Coronation Street and Emmerdale will air during different time slots this evening (Monday, June 15) due to a schedule shake-up on ITV1. The soaps usually air every weeknight, but the episodes have been removed from their usual time slots due to ITV's coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Tonight's Schedule
Following a disjointed week filled with cancellations and schedule changes, soap fans should expect more disruption this week. Tonight, both Corrie and Emmerdale will air for one hour each, instead of the usual 30 minute time slots.
Emmerdale will air at 8pm until 9pm, with Coronation Street running from 9pm until 10pm.
Emmerdale Episode Description
The description for tonight's drama in the Dales reads: "Kerry and Archie use 'AI Steph' to attempt another scam on Caleb, but are caught in the act when Pollard walks in on them. Manpreet checks in on Charity, who lies that her breakdown is postnatal depression. Cain tells Kyle he is proud of him, and asks to come to the army cadet swearing in ceremony."
Coronation Street Episode Description
There's even more chaos in Weatherfield, as tonight's description teases: "Nick is rocked by the extent of Sam's plight, Ronnie puts his scheme into action, and Maria suspects Gary and Sarah of conducting an affair. Brody becomes Betsy and Dylan's saviour, and Kevin views Tyrone's video and accuses Carl of trying to kill him."
Tuesday and Rest of the Week
The same schedule applies for Tuesday evening, when the soaps are both given one-hour time slots. Fans were left wondering why both Corrie and Emmerdale have been extended, but the schedule change is due to the fact both soaps have been cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
ITV is broadcasting live from the FIFA World Cup. England vs Croatia kicks off at 9pm on Wednesday, and Switzerland vs Bosnia and Herzegovina kicks off at 8pm on Thursday. This means both soaps have been cancelled.
Corrie and Emmerdale return on Friday evening, in their usual time slots. Emmerdale will air from 8pm until 8.30pm and Coronation Street will be screened from 8.30pm until 9pm.
Fan Reactions
The official social media accounts for both soaps shared a post to acknowledge the schedule shake-up. Sharing a photo of this week's schedule, the post was captioned: "Here's when to find us this week!"
Taking to the comments, fans gave their verdict on the schedule changes. One said: "Stop it with the hour longs. Two hours of soap a night is far too much, especially now we’re used to 30 mins each."
A second said: "Why can't ITV put Corrie on another channel so we don't have it taken off at all? Not all of us like football!!"
A third added: "Thank you for keeping us updated! Looking forward to watching."
Coronation Street and Emmerdale air on ITV1 and ITVX.
