Coleen Nolan Breaks Down on Loose Women as Sisters Battle Cancer

Coleen Nolan became emotional on Loose Women as she discussed her sisters' cancer diagnoses. The 55-year-old revealed that her sisters Linda, 61, and Anne, 69, were diagnosed with cancer just days apart, prompting her to consider a preventive mastectomy.

Speaking on the ITV show, Coleen said the family has been struggling, especially with the coronavirus lockdown preventing physical contact. 'It's really hard because I can't go and see them as they're very high risk now,' she explained. 'Your initial thing is you just want to jump in the car, go to Blackpool and put your arms around them and you can't.'

Anne has breast cancer, while Linda's incurable cancer is in her liver, following previous battles with breast cancer and secondary cancer. The family lost sister Bernie to breast cancer in 2013. Coleen said the situation has made her question her own mortality and consider having her breasts removed. 'They're like timebombs,' she said. 'It's something I'm seriously considering.'

Co-host Andrea McLean called for a commercial break to allow Coleen to compose herself. Anne and Linda previously spoke about their diagnoses in The Sun, with Anne saying: 'I am scared of dying... I want to live for as long as I possibly can.'
