Claudia Winkleman Left 'Inconsolable' Over Traitors Player Exit

The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman has revealed she was left 'inconsolable' following a contestant's exit during the current series. Speaking to Express.co.uk and other media, the 51-year-old presenter admitted becoming obsessed with one player, leading to an emotional reaction after their departure.

Winkleman, also known for hosting Strictly Come Dancing, described a roundtable scene that left her 'physically shaking'. She said: 'I don't want to say why or what it is but there is one roundtable where I came out physically shaking. It's intense and you also can't predict what is going to happen at the roundtable.'

The banishments take place during tense roundtable ceremonies at the 19th-century Scottish castle near Inverness. Winkleman teased: 'I don't want to give too much away but you become obsessed with somebody. I became so obsessed with somebody that at the end of that, I was inconsolable, it was a dark place!' She declined to reveal whether the player was a faithful or traitor to avoid spoilers.

This year's series has already seen original traitor Ash banished during episode four, after being thrown under the bus by fellow traitors Paul and Harry. Winkleman selected Harry, Paul and Ash as the original traitors, with Miles later recruited. It remains unclear if another traitor will be added.

The Traitors continues tonight on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm.
