Chase Infiniti Cast in Handmaid's Tale Spinoff, Shocking Fans

The announcement of the lead actress for the hotly anticipated Handmaid's Tale spinoff has sent shockwaves through the show's dedicated fanbase. Hulu has revealed that rising star Chase Infiniti will take on the pivotal role of Agnes, also known as Hannah, in the forthcoming series The Testaments.

First Look Sparks Social Media Frenzy

Hulu released the first official images from the series on Saturday, 6 December 2025, prompting an immediate and stunned reaction online. Fans took to social media platform X to express their surprise upon realising that the 25-year-old Infiniti, best known for her breakout role in this year's acclaimed film One Battle After Another, would be portraying the character of Hannah.

One user exclaimed, "WAIT SHE PLAYS HANNAH?????", while another declared, "I had no idea Chase Infiniti was in this now I'm DEFINITELY watching." The casting was widely praised, with one fan noting, "Chase Infiniti is going to blow people's minds... she was the perfect choice to take over the mantle of this series."

Who is Agnes in The Testaments?

The sequel series, based on Margaret Atwood's Booker Prize-winning 2019 novel, will follow young women growing up within the oppressive regime of Gilead. Agnes is the name given to Hannah after she was adopted following her separation from her mother, June, played by Elisabeth Moss in the original series.

In the final season of The Handmaid's Tale, which aired earlier this year, Hannah was depicted training to become a wife within Gilead's system. Her character served as June's primary motivation for rebellion throughout the original show's run.

Infiniti will star alongside Ann Dowd, who reprises her iconic role as the formidable Aunt Lydia. The cast also features several newcomers to the dystopian universe, including:

  • Rowan Blanchard
  • Lucy Halliday
  • Mattea Conforti
  • Isolde Ardies
  • Shechinah Mpumlwana
  • Birva Pandya

A Rising Star Takes the Lead

For Chase Infiniti, this marks her third major project and her most significant role to date. She made her television debut in 2024 in Apple TV+'s Presumed Innocent. Her feature film debut came in Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another, where she played the on-screen daughter of Leonardo DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor.

Hulu greenlit The Testaments before the final season of The Handmaid's Tale premiered, demonstrating strong confidence in the sequel. The series is scheduled for release in April 2026.

Author Margaret Atwood, whose 1985 novel inspired the original series, has recently commented that the dystopian world of Gilead feels "more and more plausible" in today's political climate, adding a chilling layer of relevance to the new show's impending arrival.
