First Trailer for Handmaid's Tale Spinoff The Testaments Reveals Teenage Spy Plot

The first trailer for The Handmaid's Tale spin-off series The Testaments has been released, offering fans a glimpse of the tense teenage spy plot set to premiere on Disney+ on 8 April. The series, announced in 2019 while the original show was still airing, picks up approximately 15 years after the events of the original series, which concluded last May.

The coming-of-age story follows two young teens, Agnes and Daisy, as they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia's elite school for future wives. Their bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, present, and future as they work together to expose the secrets of the Gilead regime.

The trailer introduces Chase Infiniti as Agnes and Lucy Halliday as Daisy, alongside returning actress Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia. Other cast members include Mabel Li, Amy Seimetz, Brad Alexander, Rowan Blanchard, and Mattea Conforti.

In the trailer, Agnes reflects on her childhood in Gilead, saying, 'Back then, we still believed in this world. I guess it's easier to believe in a story, then believe that the people around you are monsters.' Daisy is later seen declaring, 'I have to save those girls,' as she plugs in headphones as part of her plot to uncover the regime's secrets.

The series will launch with three episodes on 8 April, with subsequent episodes released weekly.
