Charlotte Hawkins Lands Channel 5 Daytime Show Role

Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins has reportedly landed a new role on a rival daytime show, Channel 5. The ITV personality will temporarily stand in for Matt Allwright on his programme this week and is expected to appear on Jeremy Vine's main show the following week.

First Channel 5 Daytime Appearance

This marks the first time Hawkins has fronted a Channel 5 daytime programme. A source told The Sun: "It's a great step for Charlotte and shows just how much she is valued at 5 and trusted to step in when needed." The insider added: "She's a huge talent and there is lots of exciting things coming up for her. She's still got her ITV work but is very in demand and open to pushing herself."

Extensive Broadcasting Background

Hawkins brings extensive broadcasting credentials to the role. She previously co-hosted Sky's breakfast show Sunrise alongside Eamonn Holmes before joining GMB. She also hosts the podcast Leaps and Hounds about canine behaviour and training, and has a programme on Classic FM.

Charlotte will feature on Channel 5 for the next fortnight but will continue her position at GMB and ITV. She is married to Mark Herbert, 50, and they celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in 2023. The couple wed on August 23, 2008, at Chichester Cathedral. Among their wedding guests were former This Morning hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

Future Plans

Hawkins hinted at a busy 2026, having taken a writing retreat last year and suggesting that 2026 will be the "year of the book." Mirror has contacted Hawkins' representatives for comment.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
