Charli XCX has announced a London edition of her Conversations events, where she will host a DJ set that may include new music. The 33-year-old singer, born Charlotte Aitchison, will appear at Exmouth Market in east London on Friday evening.
The event begins with a live talk at 7.30pm, where Charli will discuss “the process of making things” alongside her husband, The 1975 drummer George Daniel. This will be followed by a DJ set at 8pm at Coin Laundry.
In a post on her B.sides Instagram account, Charli wrote: “First come, first serve (might hide some new music in the set).” The singer held a similar event in New York earlier this month, featuring intimate Q&A sessions with fans about her creative process and songwriting.
Charli released her latest single SS26 last week, with B-side Playboy Bunny available only on physical record or via her B.sides Instagram. On May 8, she released Rock Music, after an interview in Vogue suggested she was “making rock music” for her next album, though she later clarified on Instagram: “I never said I was making a rock album.”
The singer’s recent work includes a Wuthering Heights companion album for Emerald Fennell’s film, and the Brat album, which sparked the “Brat summer” cultural phenomenon. Charli has achieved two UK number one singles and three number one albums, with hits including Boom Clap, Guess, and I Love It.
