Celebrity Traitors winners crowned after dramatic finale

Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian 'Bash' Croft have been crowned the winners of The Celebrity Traitors after a dramatic victory in the BBC show's finale. The pair emerged victorious after seeing off the remaining Traitors, Maya Jama and King Kenny, in a tense final episode that saw the Faithfuls finally get the upper hand.

A Shocking Murder and a Final Mission

The final day began with the murder of Michael Sheen, who had been targeted by the Traitors after confronting James Acaster at the previous night's roundtable. His suspicions helped lead to James' banishment, with the comedian becoming the third Traitor to leave the castle. Michael missed out on the final mission, which saw celebrities take to the skies in helicopters and dangle from ropes in a James Bond-style challenge.

The biggest drama was still to come, with Maya becoming increasingly convinced that her time in the castle was running out. The Love Island presenter had previously admitted that "all roads lead to me," and she was ultimately banished from the game. Even her loyal ally King Kenny joined forces with the Faithfuls to vote her out, having realised which way the game was heading. However, the remaining contestants were left without confirmation of Maya's identity, as banished players no longer revealed whether they had been Faithful or Traitors.

The Final Fire Pit Decision

Next to leave was Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who had attracted too much suspicion from the remaining players. That left four men standing: Romesh, Bash, King Kenny and James Blunt. They gathered around the fire pit to decide whether to banish again or end the game and accept they were all Faithful. While Romesh and Bash trusted one another, they disagreed over whether Kenny or James was the final Traitor.

Bash believed it was Kenny, and managed to convince Romesh to change his mind. The former boxer and fan favourite was subsequently banished, ending his hopes of following Alan Carr's solo Traitor victory last year. But there was one final twist. With three Faithfuls remaining, they could have shared the prize pot between their charities. However, James Blunt decided he wanted another banishment, after becoming suspicious of Romesh.

His pouch flashed red at the fire pit, while Romesh and Bash's remained green, showing they were happy to end the game. James' decision backfired, with Romesh and Bash voting him out and securing the entire prize pot between themselves. The result means the pair have pulled off a remarkable victory, with the Faithfuls finally defeating the Traitors.

A show source joked: "James Blunt was always saying he'd got it wrong across the whole series, and he was mostly right about that. At least he was consistent." The Celebrity Traitors finale aired on BBC One on Friday, October 30.
