During the first challenge, the contestants had to manoeuvre a wooden horse through four gates, with each correct answer adding £15,000 to the prize pot. However, Clare Balding made a critical mistake by misunderstanding the first gate's requirements, leading to a failed attempt. She later explained that she thought she could guess multiple numbers, but the lever did not reset after her error.
The three traitors—Alan Carr, Cat Burns, and Jonathan Ross—were tasked with their first murder, which had to be carried out in broad daylight. They planned to use toxic pollen from a black lily to smear on their victim's face. However, viewers noticed that Alan failed to replace the lily's cover after handling it, potentially exposing their plot.
