Celebrity Traitors final: Kenny betrays Maya, stuns viewers

Kenny turned on fellow Traitor Maya Jama at the Celebrity Traitors roundtable, leaving viewers stunned as the BBC final reached its climax. The betrayal aired halfway through the final episode of the hit series, with the remaining stars fighting to keep the prize pot.

Final stages bring more departures

After weeks of backstabbing, secret missions and dramatic banishments, the celebrity spin-off reached its final stages, with the remaining contestants facing one last chance to work out who had been deceiving them. When 21 famous faces first arrived at the Scottish castle, they had no idea how difficult it would be to separate their friends from their enemies. Since then, the Traitors have secretly picked off their fellow contestants, while the Faithfuls have been left trying to piece together the clues before it is too late.

Thursday's penultimate episode brought another string of dramatic departures, with Joanne McNally and Sharon Rooney both leaving the competition. However, it was James Acaster's shock decision to expose his own Traitor identity that became the biggest talking point.

James Acaster exposes himself

The comedian had found himself under increasing suspicion from fellow contestant Michael Sheen, who had begun questioning his behaviour during the murder of former EastEnders star Ross Kemp. Michael noticed that James had been the only player to remain in the library during the murder in plain sight, leading him to believe there was more to his fellow contestant than met the eye.

Despite attempting to explain his unusual position in the game, James eventually admitted he had been recruited as a Traitor against his wishes. His confession brought his time in the castle to an end, leaving the remaining contestants to face the final without him.

Michael Sheen murdered

Friday night's episode brought another devastating blow for the Faithfuls, as Maya Jama and King Kenny made a huge decision to murder Michael. Following his murder, Michael reflected on his experience in the competition, admitting he had been disappointed to leave so close to the end.

He said: "The time has come, can’t say I’m surprised, but I am incredibly disappointed, gutted that I got so close to the end. It’s been absolutely unforgettable, and I’ve loved every minute."

Roundtable betrayal

As the roundtable arrived, things were intense from the off with accusations flying in every direction. Although Romesh had some heat on him, it was traitor Maya who was next to be banished. Kenny was the last to place his vote, and he turned on his fellow traitor when it mattered most. Maya looked stunned over the move, and viewers shared the same sentiment.
