Celebrity Race Across the World returns to BBC One on October 28 at 8pm, with a new set of famous contestants racing 7,500km from Kuching in Borneo to Melbourne, Australia, on a daily budget of about £26.
Series four of the BAFTA-winning show sees the celebrity pairings rely on each other, local transport, and strangers they meet along the way, with no cash prize at stake. The 2025 series followed racers including Tyler West and Roman Kemp on a 5,900km route from Mexico to Colombia.
The Celebrity Pairings
Award-winning singer-songwriter Ella Eyre, known for her UK number-one single Waiting All Night, races with childhood friend Nana. The pair have been friends for 20 years and told the BBC they plan to treat the trip like the gap year they never had. Nana said: 'We're going to make a good team. I fear for our competitors.'
Veteran sports broadcaster Jeff Stelling competes with his son Matt. Jeff said: 'Work's been a massive part of my life. Now I don't have quite the demands that I used to have, so it's perfect timing.'
Princess and Junior, children of media personality Katie Price and singer Peter Andre, are racing to step out of their parents' shadows. Princess said: 'Everything we do, we get compared to our parents. But we actually have our own thing that we do.' Junior added: 'We've kind of got a lot to prove. I'm so excited for this. I cannot wait to do this; we're going to win.'
Eurovision legend Sam Ryder competes with best friend and tour manager Kaz, whom he met 13 years ago. Sam said: 'I reckon we can smash this. Think about all the places we've slept over the years on tour.'
The Route and Start Line
The race kicks off in Kuching, in the Malaysian state of Sarawak in Northwest Borneo, a city nicknamed Cat City. It serves as a gateway to the ancient rainforests of Borneo, among the oldest and most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth.
From Kuching, the celebrities travel south through jungles, across the Indian Ocean, and through Australia, passing five checkpoints before finishing in Melbourne. With only about £26 a day to spend, the stars must cover thousands of miles on a tight budget.
Tim Harcourt, Chief Creative Officer at Studio Lambert, said: 'This year's pairs navigate a journey that lays bare two extremes of today's world. We can't wait to share how they get on. Contestants give unfiltered and honest reactions to the experiences they face that are as demanding as they are joyful.'
Jasmyn McGuile, Commissioning Editor at BBC Factual Entertainment and Events, added: 'Audiences have been asking when the Race might reach Australia, so we are delighted that they will be able to experience this unique journey for the first time in Celebrity Race Across the World. With an adventurous start in Borneo's Sarawak rainforest, another series first, it makes for an unmissable opener for this year's celebrity teams.'
Celebrity Race Across the World airs on BBC One and iPlayer at 8pm on Wednesday October 28, with episodes following every Wednesday evening.
