Netflix has released the horror comedy 'Abigail', directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Radio Silence), known for 'Ready or Not' and 'Scream' (2022). The film follows a group of criminals who kidnap a crime lord's daughter, only to discover she is a vampire picking them off one by one. It earned $43 million (£32m) at the box office and is now streaming.
The cast includes Melissa Barrera as Joey, best known for playing Samantha Carpenter in the recent 'Scream' sequels. Dan Stevens plays Frank, famous for roles in 'Downton Abbey' and Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast'. Alisha Weir portrays the titular Abigail, having starred in 'Matilda the Musical' and 'Wicked Little Letters'.
Kathryn Newton plays Sammy, with credits including 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' and 'Freaky'. William Catlett portrays Rickles, known for TV series like 'The Mentalist' and 'Lovecraft Country'. The late Angus Cloud, star of 'Euphoria', appears as Dean in one of his final roles.
Giancarlo Esposito plays Lambert, the crime lord who hires the team, with iconic roles in 'Breaking Bad' and 'The Boys'. Matthew Goode plays Abigail's father, a vampire crime lord, known for 'A Discovery of Witches' and Netflix's 'Dept. Q'.
