This Is a Bomb: The Nevada Casino Heist

This heart-racing, three-part documentary tells the wild story of a casino bomb and the man behind it. In 1980, a ticking timebomb using 1,000lb of dynamite was wheeled through Harvey's Wagon Wheel Casino in Lake Tahoe, with a note demanding $3m (£2.2m) attached to it. It was so sophisticated that, as one bomb squad member who was there remembers in the first episode, "all the usual techniques were thrown out of the window". Hollie Richardson

Jamie Oliver tries to improve the nation's barbecue skills for summer in his latest show. Expect the usual mix of step-by-step advice and mouthwatering dishes, which in this opener include a sirloin steak cooked three ways and some luscious lamb lollipops. Graeme Virtue
Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales

Big news in series three of the charming Our Yorkshire Farm spin-off: Reuben has a new favourite tractor. He's soon putting it to work assembling a sheep pen. Then everyone mucks in with sheep shearing, including younger brothers Miles and Sid (who might consider themselves lucky not to get their mullets clipped). GV
Bear Grylls Is Running Wild
9pm, Sky One
Of course, it just has to be Matthew McConaughey who chows down on a reindeer testicle ("That's really not bad") in the wilderness of Norway. He and his old friend Bear head deep into the remote Vestland mountains for an especially punishing trek on dog-sleds across glaciers, waterfalls and alpine valleys, while opening up about faith and fatherhood round the campfire. Berlusconi: Condemned to Win

This fascinating series tracks the rise of Silvio Berlusconi who, via a media empire and ownership of AC Milan, became one of Europe's first modern populist leaders. Using testimony from friends, enemies and experts on Italian culture, it tells the story of a man whose success went hand in hand with a diminishing grasp of moral standards. Phil Harrison

In the second episode of Richard Gadd's unflinchingly brutal coming-of-age drama, Niall is starting university. As he tries to adjust to his new flatmates, he calls Ruben and invites him to visit – but the mood turns sour as soon as Ruben arrives and starts a game of spin the bottle. HR

Batman (Tim Burton, 1989), 5.50pm, Sky Cinema Greats
With this 1989 comic crime thriller, Tim Burton rescued Batman from his camp TV ghetto – not least through the left-field casting of Michael Keaton as the dark knight. Getting Jack Nicholson to play the Joker was definitely more on the nose: he is clearly having a blast as the giggling, purple-clad psychopath. Other good decisions include a revamped Batmobile plus a soundtrack by Danny Elfman and that other fan of purple, Prince. The superior sequel, Batman Returns, with Danny DeVito as the Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman, follows at 8pm. Simon Wardell
