Calvin Harris led the star-studded arrivals at this year's Ivor Novello Awards, held at Grosvenor House in London on Thursday afternoon. The globally renowned DJ and producer attended the ceremony with his wife, television presenter Vick Hope, marking a rare joint red carpet appearance for the couple, who married in September 2023 and share a nine-month-old son named Micah.
Red Carpet Glamour
The pair looked deeply in love as they posed for photographs with their arms wrapped around each other. Vick, 36, stunned in a form-fitting black dress adorned with a red floral pattern, which she paired with strappy heels and a small handbag. Her dark curly hair flowed loose, and she opted for a dewy makeup palette for the occasion. Calvin, meanwhile, sported an open jacket over a grey T-shirt, combined with dark jeans and suede trainers.
Other notable attendees included Spanish singer Rosalia, who wowed in an elegant satin black dress complemented by playful pale pink heeled pumps, and British singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who looked lovely in a peach dress with a floral skirt and matching shoes. Sophie was accompanied by her husband, Richard Jones.
The Ivors: Celebrating Songwriting Excellence
The Ivor Novello Awards, commonly known as The Ivors, are among the most prestigious global music awards, recognising outstanding achievements in songwriting and screen composition. Presented annually by The Ivors Academy, winners receive a distinctive bronze statuette. Previous laureates include legendary musicians such as Paul McCartney, John Lennon, David Bowie, Adele, RAYE, Stormzy, Bill Withers, and Bruce Springsteen.
Nominations and Categories
In March, it was announced that Olivia Dean had secured her first-ever Ivor Novello Award nomination, competing alongside Lily Allen and Lola Young. Olivia, 27, who recently won four BRIT Awards, received two nods: one for Best Album and another for PRS for Music Most Performed Work. Her competitor Lily Allen earned a Best Album nomination for her comeback record, West End Girl. Other double nominees include Jacob Alon, Self Esteem and co-writer Johan Hugo, as well as Kae Tempest and Fraser T Smith, each with two nominations.
In the PRS for Music Most Performed Work category, Olivia's hit Man I Need faces competition from older tracks such as Lola's Messy, Myles Smith's Stargazing, Chrystal's The Days (all released in 2024), and even Coldplay's 2008 classic Viva La Vida, following the band's global tour. While most awards honour the best songwriting of the past 12 months, the PRS For Music prize celebrates songs that received the most broadcast, online, and general performances.
