Brooks Nader, known for her roles in 'Love Thy Nader' and as a contestant on 'Dancing With the Stars', has joined the cast of Fox's upcoming 'Baywatch' reboot. The former Sports Illustrated model will play Selene, the sharp-tongued captain of the Zuma beach lifeguards.
Nader stars opposite Stephen Amell, who plays lead character Hobie Buchannon, along with Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, and original series star David Chokachi reprising his role as Cody Madison. The series is set to air during the 2026-2027 broadcast season.
According to the character description, Selene and Hobie have conflicting approaches to lifeguarding, leading to constant friction. Their rivalry intensifies when Hobie brings his daughter Charlie onto his team, revealing deeper tensions beyond their professional duties.
The reboot, produced by Fox and Fremantle, will begin filming this spring in Los Angeles, between Venice Beach and the Fox studio lot in Century City. The production received a $21.1 million tax credit from the state of California.
Showrunner Matt Nix leads the project, with executive producers including McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto, and Mike Horowitz. The series follows Hobie Buchannon, now a captain like his father Mitch (originally played by David Hasselhoff), whose life changes when his estranged daughter Charlie appears.
In February, Fox held a large open casting call, auditioning 2,000 aspiring lifeguards and beachgoers. Nader is represented by WME, Dixon Talent, Inc., and Leigh Fidler of Nader Sisters Inc.
