Bradley Walsh has dismissed speculation that he might take over as host of Strictly Come Dancing, saying the role would 'absolutely ruin' his weekend routine. The 65-year-old presenter, known for The Chase and Gladiators, was linked to the vacancy left by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, who stepped down after the 2025 series.
In an interview with Radio Times, Walsh described his typical winter weekend: 'I come home from the studio on a Friday, have dinner and watch I'm a Celebrity. On Saturday, I’ll watch the football results, have dinner and a pint, watch Strictly, then I’m a Celebrity, and flip back to the BBC for Match of the Day.' He added that hosting the ballroom show would disrupt this schedule.
His son and Gladiators co-host, Barney Walsh, 28, confirmed the routine was 'completely true'. The pair have been suggested as potential replacements for Winkleman and Daly, who announced their departure in October, saying they would 'cry when we say the last "keep dancing"'.
Other names in the running for the Strictly hosting role include Alex Jones, Kevin Clifton, Stacey Dooley, Rylan, Christine Lampard, and Rob Rinder. Gladiators returns to BBC One and iPlayer on January 17, while Strictly remains available on BBC iPlayer.
