Bradley Walsh Set on Fire in Terrifying Breaking Dad Stunt
Bradley Walsh Set on Fire in Breaking Dad Stunt

Bradley Walsh was left feeling incredibly anxious during the latest episode of Breaking Dad. The seventh series of the ITV documentary sees Bradley and his son, Barney, embark on an epic adventure across Australia, travelling from Sydney and up the East Coast.

Arrival in the Gold Coast

On Friday (May 15), the father-and-son duo marked the halfway point in their Australian road trip, as they arrived in the Gold Coast. Barney had lots of activities planned, starting with a trip to the beach, where they joined a local outrigger canoe club for a race on the water. The pair then visited a wildlife hospital that was set up by the infamous animal lover Steve Irwin and his family.

Synchronised Swimming and Stunt Training

The next day, Bradley and Barney met some future Olympic hopefuls and tried their best to stay afloat, as they learned the art of synchronised swimming. Their time in the Gold Coast ended with a visit to meet a stuntman who has worked alongside some of Hollywood's biggest stars. Former martial arts champion Colin taught Barney the art of a stunt fall, before Bradley took on one of the most dangerous stunts: being set on fire.

The Human Torch Fire Burn

Colin turned to Bradley and said: "So, now it's your turn. We're going to do something very special with you, and we've chosen the most dangerous of all stunts. The human torch fire burn." Bradley was left speechless, as Barney clarified: "You're gonna be set on fire!" The stunt required meticulous preparation, with Bradley being carefully fitted into layers of specialised clothing to prevent severe burns and fatal injury.

"I'm not too sure about it at the moment... I don't know why I'm so compliant. Oh my god," a nervous Bradley said. Bradley was then fitted with a balaclava to stop him breathing in the flames, shortly before the stunt began. The suit was covered in fuel, before being ignited.

Aftermath and Discomfort

An alight Bradley then ran forwards, before landing on the ground and being smothered with a wet blanket. However, the star quickly encountered a problem. "I'll tell you what, that's burning my a***! Oh my god, my a*** is on fire!" he cried out, as the team used oxygen to try and relieve his discomfort. "Take some nice deep breaths," urged Colin, before Barney asked: "How is it? How do you feel?"

Bradley replied: "To be honest with you, that was really quite frightening, do you know what I mean?" before joking: "Luckily it's not my arm, because then I'd have been in possession of a firearm."

Earlier in the Series

Earlier in the series, Bradley put his fear of heights to the test in Sydney with a terrifying aerobatic flight and a trip on an extreme cable car. The pair then learned how to shear sheep in the Aussie countryside, before joining a local community whose fundraiser involved pulling a gigantic truck. Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad is available to stream on ITVX.
