BBC's Gladiators was brought to a sudden halt after host Bradley Walsh screamed live on air during a prank by Gladiator Fury. The incident occurred as Walsh was boasting about his composure, only to be startled by a balloon burst behind him.
During the second semi-final, Walsh told the audience he had 'nerves of steel', prompting his son and co-host Barney to question the claim. As Walsh insisted he was unflappable, Fury crept up and popped a balloon, causing him to shriek and momentarily lose his train of thought.
Barney and Fury laughed at the reaction, while Walsh, visibly shaken, attempted to regain control by saying 'Next...' before acknowledging the prank. The show then moved on to The Wall event, where contestant Millie failed in 20 seconds against Sabre.
Emily later secured a place in the final by defeating Comet in 33 seconds, joining semi-finalist Naomi. The men's events saw Shaun and Josh lose to Hammer and Nitro respectively.
This follows a previous episode where referee Mark Clattenburg told Walsh to 'be quiet' during a rules dispute, prompting boos from the audience. The final airs on March 28.
