Big Brother's Philip Regan breaks silence after family death
Big Brother's Philip Regan speaks out after family death

Big Brother housemate Philip Regan has spoken publicly for the first time since his eviction, revealing that a death in his family kept him away from the show's spin-off appearances.

The 53-year-old content creator was the seventh housemate to be evicted from the ITV reality show last week. Since then, he has stayed out of the public eye, missing a customary appearance on Big Brother's spin-off show, The Group Chat, as well as the live final and the upcoming reunion episode.

Philip's Instagram statement

In a post on Instagram, alongside an image with a family member, Philip apologised for his absences and explained the reason behind them. He wrote: "I would like to take a moment to personally apologise to everyone for not being able to attend the Big Brother Group Chat or Reunion.

"Unfortunately, due to a death in my family, we have been dealing with a very difficult and emotional time. Family comes first, and I needed to take a step back from everything to be with my loved ones and deal with this personal loss."

Appeal for privacy

The caption continued: "I hope you all understand that this was not a decision taken lightly and I am truly sorry. I want to thank everyone who has continued to support me and your kindness has been greatly appreciated. Please respect my family's privacy during this difficult time. Sending love to you all. Queen Of Scotty Road."

Philip, who was the seventh housemate to be evicted, has not confirmed whether he will appear in any future Big Brother-related programmes.
