Big Brother viewers were left stunned during Friday's reunion show when it was revealed that just 1% separated winner Rochelle from runner-up Twinks in the final vote.
The ITV2 series concluded on Thursday, November 5, with the 53-year-old housewife being crowned winner, beating favourite Twinks. The finalists were visibly shocked at the result, with Rochelle exclaiming: "What?! What?! Oh my God. Oh my God."
Viewers react to the close vote
Minutes into the pre-recorded reunion show on Friday, November 6, hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, viewers learned the top two were separated by just 1% of the vote. Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their reactions.
One viewer posted: "Woah that's crazy how close that vote was #BBUK". Another wrote: "Wow. Dont think I've ever seen it where there was 1% separating the top 2. That's incredible #BBUK".
A third commented: "0.03% (sic) between tinks and rochelle winning is sending me off the rails tbh #bbuk", while another added: "RECOUNT THE VOTES NOW #BBUK."
One viewer noted: "And this result is EXACTLY why we warned people against splitting the votes. If those who voted for Yasmin had voted for Twinks she would've won."
Tensions rise on the reunion show
Speaking to Rochelle early in the reunion show, AJ Odudu asked about her exit from the house: "That was quite the reception, a lot of boos - how are you feeling now?" The winner replied: "I won. I just feel like a champion, I can't believe it. It's just incredible. I have suffered for this win. I have really, really suffered."
It was not long before tensions rose again between the housemates, with hundreds of viewers commenting on the drama. One said: "Loving all this drama it was probably for the best they prerecorded it!", while another added: "I'd pay so much money for the unedited version of this."
On Big Brother's official Instagram page, one fan commented: "So twinks basically won!!! Shes our winner regardless." A second said: "Think there should be a re count cos wtf is this." Another added: "Twinks was so close (crying emoji) my winner!"
However, some were pleased with the outcome. One viewer said: "Rochelle my winner." Another shared: "It was so close, and still the worthiest of them all won."
Philip absent from the reunion
One controversial housemate was notably missing from the reunion - Philip. The 53-year-old content creator had earlier shared an update on Instagram explaining: "Unfortunately, due to a death in my family, we have been dealing with a very difficult and emotional time. Family comes first, and I needed to take a step back from everything to be with my loved ones and deal with this personal loss. I hope you all understand that this was not a decision taken lightly and I am truly sorry."
Big Brother can be streamed on ITVX.
