Fans of Yellowstone are in for a treat with Taylor Sheridan's latest series making a return soon. Lioness will be gracing screens once more for Season 3 after Paramount+ dropped an exciting teaser for the forthcoming outing.
Season 3 of the American espionage thriller, also known as Special Ops: Lioness, will premiere on August 2 on the streamer. The show follows a CIA unit that enlists female operatives for covert missions as part of its War on Terror. It is led by Hollywood actress Zoe Saldaña as Joe McNamara, a senior CIA case officer who runs the Lioness programme.
Other cast members include Locke & Key's Laysla De Oliveira as Cruz Manuelos, Yellowstone and Brothers & Sisters star Dave Annable as Dr. Neal McNamara, former Wipeout host Jill Wagner as Bobby, and Sons of Anarchy star LaMonica Garrett as Tucker. Additionally, Lioness features big names in smaller roles, including Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Kelly from House of Cards.
Along with starring in the show, Saldaña and Kidman also serve as executive producers. A summary from Paramount+ reads: 'In Season 3, from creator and writer Taylor Sheridan, hidden networks, foreign operatives, and personal betrayals collide. Joe (Saldaña) walks the line between duty and home as unseen forces circle her world. Patterns appear where they shouldn't, names vanish, and paths rearrange. Guided by Kaitlyn (Kidman) and Westfield (Kelly), Joe confronts enemies operating in the shadows, leaving her to reckon with a war that now reaches into every part of her life.'
Lioness has previously been hailed as better than Sheridan's Neo-Western epic Yellowstone on Reddit and has received high praise on IMDb. One Sheridan super-fan posted: 'I've watched Yellowstone, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingston, Lioness, the first episode of 1883 and 1923. Of those Taylor Sheridan shows, I feel Lioness is the best.' Another commented: 'Yellowstone is brilliant shame its going to end but at least there are the various spin offs. All of Sheridans shows are good to great and bingeable on paramount plus.'
On IMDb, one person posted: 'Another masterpiece by Taylor and we can only hope there is more to come!' Another hailed the series as 'gripping' and explained in their 9/10 star review: 'I've put off watching this for a while and after finally catching up it's been utterly brilliant.' A third gave it 10/10 and proclaimed it to be an 'amazing series', adding: 'Honestly this is probably one of the best series out right now there is nothing like it on TV and it has a great cast line-up it has enough dose of action and drama so you can watch it husband and wife together it's not just a full action series.'
