Bethany clashes with Jodie after she targets Kit in Corrie

Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) is forced to stand up to Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) in new Coronation Street scenes next week, after the troublemaker sets her sights on Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), just weeks after his split from Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).

Jodie arrives back home following her court appearance and reveals to Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) and Bethany that she has avoided prison after assaulting Sarah. Instead, she has been handed community service and will have to carry out litter-picking duties.

Jodie’s return causes tension

However, it does not take long for Jodie to start causing more trouble. With David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) away, Shona is already struggling as she tries to settle Harper while also dealing with Lily. When Jodie starts interfering, tensions in the house only get worse.

Later, while carrying out her community service, Jodie overhears Bethany arranging a date and cannot resist making a nasty remark. Bethany is not prepared to take it and quickly puts Jodie in her place. But rather than letting the argument go, a smarting Jodie decides to cause some drama of her own. She approaches Kit and suggests they should go on a date, promising him the time of his life. Given Kit’s recent history with Sarah, it is a move that is unlikely to go down well with the Platts.

Bethany’s date takes a turn

Meanwhile, Bethany has other things on her mind when she heads to the Bistro for her second date with Roman. The pair jokingly raise a glass to enjoying a drama-free evening, but they may have spoken too soon. Bethany is horrified when Jodie walks into the Bistro with Kit. Her mood immediately changes as she points out that her mum Sarah is currently in prison and only split from Kit a matter of weeks ago.

As Jodie openly flirts with Kit in front of her, Bethany finally snaps. She warns Kit that Jodie is toxic and that he should stay well away from her. Unfortunately, Bethany’s anger does not exactly help the romantic atmosphere on her own date, and she ends up leaving. Jodie, meanwhile, has no intention of backing down and invites Kit back for a nightcap.

Shona’s warning

Bethany is not the only one disgusted by Jodie’s behaviour either. When Jodie proudly tells Shona that she has got a date with Kit, Shona is stunned. She accuses her sister of stabbing Sarah in the back, making it very clear what she thinks about the new romance.

But Jodie’s behaviour is about to become even more concerning. With Shona already overwhelmed, Jodie secretly hides her car keys and smiles to herself before messaging Kit to suggest a ‘rematch’. Things then take a frightening turn when an exhausted Shona calls David to tell him about her nightmare day. She suddenly realises that she has accidentally left baby Harper in the car and races outside in a panic.

Thankfully, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) has already found Harper and is cradling her. After the scare, Jodie encourages Shona to get some much-needed sleep and offers to look after Harper. However, she uses the opportunity to invite Kit over.

When Shona later comes downstairs, she is unimpressed to discover Jodie and Kit enjoying a glass of wine together. Refusing to leave them to it, Shona plants herself firmly on the sofa and gives Kit a warning of her own, telling him that getting involved with her sister could be the worst idea he has ever had.

With both Bethany and Shona warning Kit to keep his distance, will he finally listen? Or is Jodie’s betrayal of Sarah about to cause an even bigger family war?
