Netflix has released its 2025 slate of festive rom-coms, with Jingle Bell Heist emerging as the most appreciated by critics. The film, starring Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells, follows two strangers who team up to rob a London department store. It holds a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 20 reviews, praised for its breezy fun and edgy plot.
Other titles include My Secret Santa, also at 75% but with fewer reviews, featuring Alexandra Breckenridge as a single mother posing as Santa at a ski resort. Critics lauded Breckenridge's performance and the make-up, though noted a predictable script. Champagne Problems, set in France, scored 73%, with critics enjoying its fizzy comedy but finding the romance lacking.
The lowest-rated film is A Merry Little Ex-Mas, with 50%. Critics called it predictable and unfunny, despite a committed cast including Alicia Silverstone and Oliver Hudson. The film follows a divorcing couple spending one last Christmas together.
Netflix began releasing these films in early November, with all four making the platform's most-watched chart. While critics agree the slate is not remarkable, Jingle Bell Heist offers enough charm and humour to stand out this holiday season.
