Netflix has released the official trailer for Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, the second season of the Money Heist prequel series centred on the charismatic criminal Berlin. The eight-episode series is set to premiere on Friday, 15 May, transporting fans back to the events before the original Spanish crime drama began.
The synopsis teases: 'The art of crime reaches a whole new level. A heist where nothing is what it seems. Berlín returns with a new challenge, this time set in the heart of Seville. The plan revolves around a masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci. But precision won't be enough—emotions, impulsive decisions, and the bonds within the crew will put everything at risk.'
Pedro Alonso reprises his role as the iconic, self-absorbed criminal. While fans are excited, some have expressed disappointment that the trailer does not feature the Professor, played by Álvaro Morte. One viewer asked, 'Where is Professor?', while another declared, 'Any heist is incomplete without the Professor.'
However, Morte has confirmed he will make a cameo appearance in the series. In a promotional video, he said: 'Returning as The Professor; even if it's just for a very, very small part because it's only a few scenes, it was something I really wanted to do, beyond just being with the crew again. Because it's like a small gift we're giving to everyone; to the followers, to the fans we've always had, and who have always shown us so much love.'
The returning cast includes Michelle Jenner, Tristán Ulloa, Begoña Vargas, and Julio Peña Fernández. Newcomer Inma Cuesta joins as Candela, described as an 'unpredictable, fiery and temperamental woman from Seville'.
Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine launches on Netflix on Friday, 15 May.
