Benidorm Cast Reunites Sparking Reboot Rumours After 7-Year Hiatus
Benidorm icons reunite, sparking reboot rumours

The iconic cast of the hit ITV comedy Benidorm has sent the internet into a meltdown after a heartwarming reunion photo surfaced online, immediately igniting passionate calls from fans for a full-scale series reboot.

A Dinner That Started a Frenzy

Actress Sherrie Hewson, who memorably played hotel manager Joyce Temple-Savage, posted a picture on her social media of the cast enjoying an evening out together. The image, simply captioned "The Team," featured the show's creator Derren Litten, alongside actors Jake Canuso (Mateo) and Danny Walters (Tiger Dyke). This gathering marks seven years since the show was axed in 2018 after a successful 11-year run.

Fans were quick to flood the comments section with excitement and hope. One fan pleaded, "Don't tease. Is it a sign?" while another demanded, "This is why we need Benidorm back and NOW." The overwhelming response highlights the show's enduring popularity and the audience's desire to see the Solana resort's chaotic guests return to their screens.

The Legacy of a British Comedy Staple

Benidorm first burst onto our television screens in 2007 and quickly became a fan favourite. Over its decade-long tenure, it produced an impressive 74 episodes across 10 series on ITV. Its cancellation in May 2018 was met with disappointment from its dedicated viewer base.

At the time, creator Derren Litten reflected on the show's end, stating it was "difficult to think what else there is to do!" after having created, written, guest-starred in, and directed the series. A source close to the show had indicated that while Benidorm had been ITV's longest-running comedy, bosses felt it had "run its course" as ratings began to drop and key cast members departed.

Is a Comeback on the Cards?

Rumours of a potential revival are not entirely new. Back in April 2025, reports emerged that ITV bosses were in early talks about rebooting the beloved series. A TV insider suggested that there was "major excitement building" as producers began reaching out to the original stars.

While an 11th series has not yet been officially commissioned, this latest reunion has undoubtedly poured fuel on the fire of speculation. The cast's public get-together has proven that the appetite for more Benidorm antics remains as strong as ever, leaving fans desperately hoping that this nostalgic photo is a precursor to an official announcement.
