Benidorm Stars Reunite, Fueling Reboot Speculation

Cast members of the hit ITV comedy series Benidorm have reunited for a dinner, sparking fresh rumours of a possible reboot. Actress Sherrie Hewson, who played Joyce Temple-Savage, shared a photo on Instagram showing herself alongside show creator Derren Little, Jake Canuso (Mateo), and Danny Walters (Tiger Dyke). The image, captioned simply 'The Team,' sent fans into a frenzy.

Benidorm aired for 10 series from 2007 to 2018, totalling 74 episodes. It was cancelled in May 2018, with creator Derren Little announcing the news on social media, stating, 'It’s difficult to think what else there is to do!' At the time, a source said ITV felt the show had 'run its course' due to declining ratings and departing cast members.

However, reports earlier this year suggested ITV bosses were in early talks to revive the series. A TV insider told The Sun: 'Benidorm was adored by millions when it was suddenly cancelled. Fans will be thrilled to hear ITV wants to bring it back.' While no 11th series has been commissioned, excitement is building as producers reach out to former stars.

Fans have flooded social media with pleas for a return, with comments such as 'Don't tease. Is it a sign?' and 'This is why we need Benidorm back and NOW.' Hewson's post has reignited hope that the beloved comedy may once again grace screens.
