Beef Season 2 Premieres April 16 On Netflix

Netflix has released the first trailer for season two of Beef, which will premiere on April 16. The new season of the comedy-drama anthology series stars Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan as a married couple who become embroiled in a feud with a younger couple, played by Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton.

Season two is set in a country club, where Spaeny and Melton play Ashley Miller and Austin Davis, staff members who become entangled with their general manager Joshua Martin (Isaac) and his wife Lindsay Crane-Martin (Mulligan). After witnessing the Martins in a heated argument, the younger couple find themselves in a protracted conflict with them.

The series synopsis adds that both couples vie for the approval of the club's billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung), who is dealing with her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang-ho). The cast also includes Seoyeon Jang, William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover and Matthew Kim.

Creator Lee Sung Jin explained that he wanted to explore a generational divide by pitting a Gen Z couple against a millennial one. He noted that the younger couple have never been tested, while the older couple face life's first real struggles. The first season of Beef, starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, was widely praised upon its release in 2023.
