The Capture Series 3 Trailer and Return Date Announced

The BBC has released an extended first-look trailer and new artwork for the third series of its hit thriller, The Capture, which will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One on Sunday, 8 March. The action-packed trailer stars Holliday Grainger as Rachel Carey, alongside Paapa Essiedu, Indira Varma, Ben Miles, Lia Williams, Ginny Holder, and Ron Perlman.

New cast members for series three include Killian Scott, Joe Dempsie, Andrew Buchan, Hugh Quarshie, Amanda Drew, Linus Roache, and Jonathan Aris. Returning cast members include Andy Nyman, Nigel Lindsay, Tessa Wong, and Daisy Waterstone.

The series picks up 12 months after Carey broadcast a live deepfake of a government minister, exposing the UK intelligence service's clandestine video manipulation programme, Correction. Now Acting Commander of Counter Terrorism Command, she is determined to regain public trust through the new Operation Veritas camera system. However, a brutal and well-coordinated act of terror targets the British establishment, leaving just one witness.

As Carey investigates, she is drawn into a geopolitical crisis that infects the British political establishment, security services, and media. The conspiracy reaches deep into the state, and with few allies left, she must decide what sacrifices she is willing to make.

Episode one launches on BBC iPlayer at 6am on 8 March and on BBC One at 9pm that evening, with subsequent episodes released weekly. The series is created, written, and executive produced by BAFTA winner Ben Chanan, and produced by Heyday Television for BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
