Alex Jones, presenter of BBC's The One Show, was forced to briefly leave the studio on Friday to avoid hearing spoilers about the hit reality series The Traitors. The 47-year-old admitted she had not yet watched Thursday's episode and halted the show's discussion of the programme.
Jones told viewers: "Now, be warned, if you haven't watched last night's episode, like me, go and get yourself a glass of wine... come back in around two minutes." She then covered her ears and left the set, with co-host Roman Kemp urging her to go and instructing the crew to play the spoiler segment.
Returning after the segment, Jones reappeared shielded behind a script. After a tap from Kemp, she asked: "Is it done?" before joyfully proclaiming: "I can't wait for tonight's episode, I'm so excited we've got a platter of sushi, I know, we never have sushi!"
Thursday's episode saw Freddie banished and revealed as a Traitor, while fellow Traitor Charlotte was selected by Frankie as part of her Seer power. The episode ended on a cliffhanger, with viewers awaiting Friday's final to see if Charlotte's true identity is exposed.
The One Show continues weekdays at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, while The Traitors final airs at 8:30pm on Friday on the same channels.
