BBC Breakfast Fans Plead for Sarah Campbell to Stay

BBC Breakfast viewers have pleaded with presenter Sarah Campbell to become a permanent host after she spent recent weeks filling in for regular stars.

Sarah Campbell has become a beloved presenter on BBC Breakfast, often standing in for regular stars including Sally Nugent, Naga Munchetty, and Nina Warhurst. She also covers the news programme on the weekends.

In recent weeks, Sarah has appeared more frequently on BBC Breakfast while some of her co-stars take a break for the summer holidays.

Thanks for having me

In her latest Instagram post, Sarah thanked the show for having her as she takes a little break. She also confirmed to her followers when she would be back on BBC Breakfast.

Alongside behind-the-scenes photos on set, Sarah wrote, "Thanks for having me over the past month, keeping the red sofa warm for Naga, Sally, and Nina. And thank you for all your lovely messages."

She added, "A new look for @bbcbreakfast and August drawing to a close seemed like a good excuse for a photo dump. Enjoy your Bank Holidays, and I will see you on the News Channel @bbcnews next week."

Fans' reactions

Sarah's followers and co-stars rushed to the comment section, with Ben Thompson writing, "Awwww this team!"

Another fan penned with a fingers-crossed emoji, "Back soon," to which Sarah confirmed, "Will be returning on a Sunday in September."

Other fans pleaded for Sarah to become a permanent host after building a good on-screen rapport with some of the other presenters.

One said, "You have an excellent on-screen rapport with Jon, Charlie, and Ben, and it would be lovely to see you as a permanent host either Monday-Wednesday or Thursday to Saturday."

Another agreed, "I hope you stay. You are so warm and friendly. It’s nice watching the BBC News with a kind person like yourself. Enjoy your weekend, Sarah."

Someone else went on, "Love having you @sarahcnews hope to have you back soon xx."

"Please stay !!! You are brilliant on that sofa…" another fan pleaded.
