BBC Beyond Paradise Replacement Revealed as Series 4 Ends

BBC has confirmed what will replace Beyond Paradise in its Friday night slot, as the beloved series concludes its fourth season. The cosy crime drama, set in Shipton Abbott, airs its sixth and final episode of series four tonight, Friday, May 1, at 8pm on BBC One.

What Replaces Beyond Paradise?

Starting next week, Friday, May 8, the 8pm slot will be filled by two programmes. First, an hour-long edition of Question Time at 7.30pm, hosted by Fiona Bruce, featuring a post-election debate special with a panel of politicians and other guests facing audience questions. Then, at 8.30pm, BBC One will broadcast David Attenborough's 100 Years On Planet Earth, a 90-minute live event from the Royal Albert Hall honouring the legendary broadcaster on his 100th birthday.

David Attenborough's Birthday Special

The celebratory programme will take viewers on a journey through Sir David Attenborough's extraordinary life and career, featuring wildlife stories, reflections from friends, colleagues, and admirers. The BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Jerome Kuhn, will perform music from some of Attenborough's favourite programmes.

Beyond Paradise Series 4 Finale

Before these shows, the series four finale of Beyond Paradise promises a compelling case. During the town's annual pirate festival, Geraldine Desai's (Melanie Walters) maritime exhibition is set ablaze, and a centuries-old treasure map belonging to pirate Elias Cutler vanishes. Was the fire an accident or a diversion for theft? Meanwhile, Humphrey (Kris Marshall) worries about a leaving do as Mr Smith (Vincent Franklin) prepares to step into a new role.

The Beyond Paradise series four finale airs Friday, May 1, at 8pm on BBC One.
