Anne Hegerty Denies The Chase Exit Rumours

The Chase star Anne Hegerty has dismissed speculation that the ITV quiz show is facing a production hiatus. Reports in April claimed no new episodes would be filmed for at least 12 months, but Hegerty has now confirmed filming will resume shortly.

Speaking to Woman Magazine, the 67-year-old, known as The Governess, said: 'We are filming again in around three weeks and we've got lots more shows in the bag.' She also revealed a new spin-off, The Chase Around The World, is in development.

The six-part series will see contestants track down all six Chasers in undisclosed global locations, solving puzzles to win a prize pot. Hegerty reflected on the show's longevity, noting it has been running since June 2009 and continues to attract over 2.5 million viewers per episode.
