Angry Ginge announces exit from Bov Boys group

Angry Ginge, the Salford-born content creator whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, has announced he is leaving the Bov Boys, a YouTube collective he co-founded, almost a year after winning I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.

The group was formed in July 2025, bringing together Ginge and fellow social media stars Tays, Heinz Baines, NYKChazza and Jakey Davies. Together they shared videos completing various challenges, including opening fake ventures such as a salon, a pizza restaurant and a car wash.

Half a million subscribers

Since launching, the Bov Boys have amassed more than half a million subscribers on YouTube and over 350,000 followers on Instagram.

On Wednesday evening (November 4), Ginge confirmed his departure in a statement posted to the Bov Boys Instagram account. The 24-year-old said: "Well hello there, I know this isn't the news you were expecting; however, it's the news that is here."

He added: "Before I go any further, I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for all the love for the BOV Boys these last 12-18 months. Without you, the memories, support, and love wouldn’t have been the same."

"The story ends here"

The Twitch streamer continued: "The BOV Boys themselves are my brothers for life, and I love them all as one. But in life, you never know where your story ends, and for me and BOV, the story ends here. It's been an amazing time, with memories I will take to my grave, from Benidorm to our first-ever recording in London. Although this is the END for me and BOV, the love and the friendships go on!"

He also said: "I'll still be with the boys most days on stream and sharing memories every week as usual. This hasn't been an easy decision, but the boys will smash it without me and maybe you'll prefer it LOL (Means laugh if funny)." Ginge concluded: "I'm wishing them nothing but the best of luck. Thank you for everything, but remember, this isn't goodbye; it's a see you later."

Heinz later shared photos of himself and Ginge with the caption "RIP AngryGinge13. 2026 GBNF," and it was confirmed a 'funeral' would be held as the Bov Boys share their last video with Ginge on Friday (November 6).

Fans react to the news

The announcement appeared to catch fans off guard, despite Ginge recently hinting at something "massive" being planned. @harleydennisx said: "April fools day is on 1st April boys hope this helps." @trulycm_ commented: "Not what I was expecting to see at work at 6:55pm."

@xxlilahmccourtxx wrote: "Nooooo I’m actually crying. Please say this is fake." @hayleighmcgoran20 replied: "Ginge really did pull the KSI card didn’t he, and I wasn’t expecting this good luck with everything mate." charlotte.sfc posted: "Year officially ruined. Won’t be the same without you ginge." @jake_young123_ added: "Only a year, what a shame."

The Salford-born streamer and Manchester United fan travelled to Australia last year for the ITV reality series, joined in the jungle by his close friend and fellow Manchester native, rapper Aitch. Ginge made history as the first social media star to be crowned King of the Jungle, after joining former EastEnders actress Shona McGarty and Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson in the final in December. He received 53 per cent of the vote in the final three, before achieving 65 per cent in the final two, with runner-up Tom getting 35 per cent.
