Andrew Lincoln Opens Up About Leaving The Walking Dead

Andrew Lincoln has revealed the reason behind his departure from AMC's 'The Walking Dead' after nearly a decade as Rick Grimes. The actor confirmed his exit during the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con, stating that he wants to spend more time with his family in England.

Lincoln told EW Radio that the show's filming location in Georgia made it difficult to balance work and family life. 'I have two young children, and I live in a different country, and they become less portable as they get older. It was that simple. It was time for me to come home,' he explained.

Co-stars paid tribute to Lincoln, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan describing him as 'the leader' of the cast. Norman Reedus likened him to a 'quarterback,' noting their close daily routine. 'He's the first call I get when I wake up... It's been like that every day,' Reedus said.
