Amanda Owen shocked viewers of ITV's Lorraine with a foul-mouthed swipe at her ex-husband Clive Sparks during a chaotic interview about her large family. The 50-year-old shepherdess, who shares nine children with Clive, appeared on the show to discuss her life on Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, North Yorkshire, and her new Channel 4 series Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive, 70, and Kids.
Standing outside her derelict farmhouse, Amanda asked herself: 'Why have I got nine children?' She explained: 'Because I never set out to have nine children. It was never a big dream to have a big family, that didn't come from anywhere. Believe me, there was never a sit down moment where we said "Let's try and repopulate Swaledale".'
Later, while talking to the camera, Amanda said: 'I haven't got anything to complain about. Well I have, obviously, Clive for a start.' She then added: 'Yeah you can tell Lorraine we're in perfect f***ing harmony,' just before the camera panned to Clive driving a tractor in the background.
Amanda and Clive split in 2022 after 22 years of marriage. They have nine children: Raven, 23, Reuben, 21, Miles, 18, Edith, 16, Violet, 14, Sidney, 13, Annas, 11, Clemmy, nine, and Nancy, eight.
In a recent interview with Yorkshire Life magazine, Amanda spoke about raising her 'feral' children, saying: 'Life here prepares you for life anywhere. It gives you a can-do mindset, common sense, and a work ethic.' She also hit back at critics who made cruel comments about her looks, telling Lorraine: 'If anyone wants to say "aw you know you've got some mascara on you can't be a shepherd" - tough, because I am.'
