Alex Jones made a surprise announcement just minutes into Thursday's episode of The One Show, revealing that co-presenter JB Gill had returned after an extended absence. The Welsh presenter welcomed Gill back to the famous sofa, saying: 'Hello there and welcome to your Thursdays One Show on BBC One and iPlayer. Now look who is back after touring with his band JLS, It's JB Gill!'
Gill, who has been touring with JLS on their 'The Club Is Alive: 2025 Hits Tour', shared details of his time away. He told viewers: 'While I was on the road with the boys we had the honour of taking part in a brilliant One Big Thank You. We surprised two inspirational sisters Megan and Brogan, who after experiencing a tragic event, have made it their mission to help others in their community.'
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant also announced his latest television venture: he will appear on the upcoming series of The Celebrity Apprentice, alongside 11 other celebrities including his Strictly 2024 co-star Sarah Hadland. The charity episodes will support BBC Children in Need, with contestants travelling to Lapland to create gingerbread biscuits for major UK retailers.
Gill took to Instagram to share his excitement, posting: 'Aaaaaah! I can't believe I'm going to be in #TheCelebrityApprentice this year. I grew up watching this show, always wondering what it would be like inside the boardroom... It's A LOT more daunting on this side of the screen trust me!' The Celebrity Apprentice: Christmas Special is set to air on BBC One and iPlayer.
