Aldi's Christmas 2026 advert has sparked a wave of viewer engagement, with fans calling the phone number displayed on a 'LOST' poster as Kevin the Carrot searches for his missing Cauli-dog.
The festive campaign follows Kevin and his daughter Chantenay through the snow as they put up posters on Santa's letterbox. The missing companion is described as "nervous around cheese", and anyone who finds him is asked to call 0333 577 5577.
Fans dial the number
Viewers have been trying the number themselves and encouraging others to do the same. Instead of a standard message, callers hear a voicemail from Kevin, who is still out looking for his beloved dog.
The response has spread across Instagram and Facebook, where viewers have praised the advert and shared their delight at the recorded message. On Instagram, one viewer wrote: "Have been waiting for this advert all year", while another commented: "Simply the best, every year you bring me cheer."
A third added: "Always know Christmas is round the corner when we get Kevin!" A fourth wrote: "Love the voicemail when you call; let's hope cauli-dogs found in time for Christmas."
Another said: "I hope everyone rings the number. Too good not to", while a fellow fan commented: "This is the Christmas advert we've been waiting for..Big Kev's back and Christmas is around the corner."
Social media reaction
On Facebook, one viewer posted: "Love this! And just rang the number on the poster, brilliant Aldi." Another remarked: "03335775577 number on the poster... ring it, trust me it's ace! ! ! Let the kids listen to it too", while a third added: "Brilliant you have to call the number."
One viewer also took aim at a rival retailer: "John Lewis should take lessons from Aldi on how to make Christmas Ads."
In the voicemail, Kevin explains he cannot take the call because he is searching for Cauli. He says: "He's definitely been here, I knew I should've brought a poo bag or two, or three. What on earth has he been eating?"
He then directs callers to Aldi's Facebook page, where customers have been discussing the missing dog, with a possible reward hinted at.
Cauli-dog found
Some fans are already hoping for a Cauli-dog toy. One wrote: "I shall be queuing at whatever time it is in the morning it takes to get my hands on a cauli-dog toy! Please tell me this is coming!"
A subsequent advert shared on social media showed the missing Cauli-dog being found. The reunion prompted one viewer to write: "Watching an animated root vegetable reunite with a cauliflower puppy and getting genuinely teary at our desk on a Thursday morning."
Another said: "Best Xmas advert better than the others I've seen", while a third declared: "This advert gives me goosebumps [heart emojis] it's beautiful." The praise comes after criticism of John Lewis's Christmas advert, which some viewers branded the "worst of all time".
