Alan Cumming has revealed that he leaves notes around the Scottish castle used for filming The Traitors for Claudia Winkleman to find. The two hosts, who met for the first time at last year's BAFTAs, have developed a unique way of communicating despite their filming schedules not overlapping.
Cumming, 61, hosts the US version of the show, which is filmed at the same location as the UK edition. He told Hello! magazine: 'We do leave little notes for each other to say hello.'
The actor has returned to Scotland to take over as Artistic Director of the Pitlochry Festival Theatre, where he will also star as Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady. He splits his time between the Highlands and New York with his husband Grant Shaffer.
When asked if he would ever appear as a contestant on The Traitors, Cumming said: 'I mean, you'd think I might have some extra special skills because of my access to it, but I don't know if I would. It gets insane at certain times. Also, it would be really weird if I wasn't able to go to my room in the castle… and not lie in my big bed.'
