'Modern Indiana Jones' Adventure Film Breaks Apple TV+ Streaming Records
Adventure Film Breaks Apple TV+ Streaming Records

Guy Ritchie's adventure film Fountain of Youth has become Apple TV+'s most successful release to date, racking up 765.5 million minutes of viewing in its opening week alone, according to the streaming service. The film, starring John Krasinski and Natalie Portman, has remained in the platform's top 10 chart for 342 days.

Poor Reviews, Massive Viewership

Despite its streaming success, Fountain of Youth holds a 35% approval rating from professional critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with audiences only slightly more favourable at 38%. The film was released in 2025 and lacked a broad theatrical release, yet it has attracted millions of subscribers.

John Krasinski leads the cast as a treasure hunter seeking the mythical Fountain of Youth, supported by an ensemble including Eiza González, Domhnall Gleeson, and Stanley Tucci. The film's blend of action, mystery, and ancient intrigue has drawn comparisons to Indiana Jones and The Da Vinci Code.

Sequel Potential

Director Guy Ritchie told Entertainment Weekly: "It was one of those films that you don't really want to end. People had such a lovely time doing it that they'd love to go back for another bite. So, we'll have to see how we do. We'd all love to go back." The film could become one of Apple TV+'s first productions to receive a sequel, following The Family Plan starring Mark Wahlberg.

Fan Reactions

One Rotten Tomatoes user wrote in a four-star review: "If you don't take it too seriously it's an enjoyable caper. Think Indiana Jones meets Dan Brown with a sprinkling of The Mummy. It's slickly produced, nicely set and although it has its flaws, I would watch it again." Another viewer described it as an "epic film", while a fan on IMDb called it "excellent family fun adventure with an Indiana Jones feeling."

Fountain of Youth is available to stream on Apple TV+.
