Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Omega Deal Fuels James Bond 007 Casting Rumours
Aaron Taylor-Johnson Omega Deal Hints at James Bond Role

Speculation surrounding the next James Bond has intensified after British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson accepted a role that places him firmly in 007's world. The Golden Globe winner has been unveiled as a new global ambassador for luxury watchmakers Omega, the official timepiece of Ian Fleming's iconic spy since 1995.

A Timely Partnership

The announcement, made on November 23, 2025, sees the 35-year-old actor join the prestigious brand. Omega's president and CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann, praised Aaron as a 'versatile actor' with a range covering 'action, thriller, romance and much more'—a set of qualities highly befitting a potential 007.

This partnership is particularly significant because the James Bond character has worn an Omega Seamaster in every film since Pierce Brosnan's tenure began with GoldenEye. The brand has also produced numerous special 007 editions over the years.

The Frontrunner for Bond

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been a popular frontrunner with bookmakers ever since Daniel Craig's 007 was killed off in his fifth and final film, No Time To Die in 2021. He finds himself on a coveted shortlist that has also included Tom Holland, Tom Hardy, and Idris Elba.

Further fuelling the rumours, the Buckinghamshire-born actor was recently spotted wearing a Speedmaster First Omega in Space during a visit to the brand's factory in Switzerland. On his new role, the 28 Years Later star shared a personal connection, stating, 'My interest in watches first began with my dad who introduced me to Omega... He was working class and saved his earnings to purchase an Omega watch.'

What's Next for James Bond?

Despite the mounting evidence, fans should not expect a new film imminently. In 2022, producer Barbara Broccoli stated that filming is 'at least two years away'. She emphasised that the team is undertaking a 'reinvention of Bond' and that no script can be developed until that new direction is decided.

When Bond 26 does eventually materialise, it will be the first film where the famous spy serves under a male monarch, King Charles. If released after 2027, it would also mark the longest gap between films in the franchise's history.

In related news, another fan favourite, Idris Elba, has officially ruled himself out of the running. The 53-year-old actor stated last month that age is against him, noting that signing up for Bond typically commits an actor to a decade of films.

For now, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is in the UK shooting the period horror film Werwulf alongside Lily-Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe, leaving the world to wonder if his next mission will be for His Majesty's Secret Service.
