Glenn Close

Channel 4's dark new drama stars Oscar-winning actress Glenn Close as Maud Oldcastle, an elderly woman with a passion for murder. Maud spent her youth looking after her sister and sets out to live her life the way she wants. But when a young detective investigates a suspicious death in her building, Maud finds that the secrets she thought were buried are beginning to resurface. The six-part series is based on Swedish author Helene Tursten's short story collections, An Elderly Lady Is Up to No Good and An Elderly Lady Must Not Be Crossed. Up To No Good is expected to premiere on Channel 4 in late 2026.

The Dark

This chilling six-part drama follows DI Monica Kennedy (Laura Donnelly) as she teams up with her new partner, DC Connor Crawford (Mark Rowley), to hunt a ruthless killer. When the investigation becomes linked to the missing son of Bethany Morgan (Helen Baxendale), it becomes apparent that this is the work of a serial killer, kickstarting the beginning of the ultimate game of cat-and-mouse. Adapted from G.R. Halliday's bestselling novel From the Shadows, this gripping Scottish thriller is set to keep viewers hooked from start to finish. The Dark will air on ITV and be available to stream on ITVX this summer.

Old Town Murders

When it comes to gripping crime dramas, few do it better than the BBC. The witty, twisty Welsh series follows DI Glyn Walsh (Mark Lewis Jones) and DS Sion Dearden (Steffan Rhodri), two old friends who work together to solve complex murders in the seaside town of Tenby. Although they are expected to be on their last legs, the pair are continually called upon to tackle fresh murder mysteries. Old Town Murders will air on BBC One and iPlayer later in 2026.
