Channel 5 has made a sudden schedule change, pulling the popular reality series 22 Kids and Counting from its regular Sunday evening slot. The show, which documents the lives of Britain's largest family, Sue and Noel Radford and their children, will not air this Sunday at 8pm as originally planned.
Snooker Championship Takes Priority
Instead of the Radford family's latest adventures, viewers will be treated to coverage of the Snooker Player's Championship final. The sporting event will dominate the evening schedule, broadcasting from 6:30pm to 9pm from the Telford International Centre.
The championship coverage will be presented by Katie Shanahan, featuring commentary from snooker legends including Stephen Hendry, Alan McManus, John Higgins, and Matthew Stevens. The final promises high drama, with the first player to reach ten frames being crowned champion.
Radford Family Return Scheduled
Fans of the reality series need not worry about missing their weekly dose of the Radfords. 22 Kids and Counting will return to Channel 5 the following Sunday with what promises to be an emotionally charged episode.
The upcoming installment focuses on sixteen-year-old Max Radford as he faces the formidable challenge of his GCSE examinations. Max, who is autistic, dreams of working on major engineering projects involving planes, submarines, ships, and even rockets.
However, his academic path faces a significant obstacle. While excelling in logic, mathematics, and physics, Max struggles profoundly with expressive subjects like English. The episode explores how failing English could potentially collapse his engineering ambitions before they properly begin.
Family Dynamics and Relationship Strains
The returning episode also delves into the relationship between Ellie Radford and her boyfriend Steven as they approach their first anniversary. Tensions are emerging between the couple, with Steven spending increasing time away from home and Ellie often unaware of his whereabouts.
Their differing interests come to a head when Ellie plans an adrenaline-fueled weekend in the Lake District, complete with a bungee jump—an idea that leaves Steven visibly anxious and breaking out in a cold sweat.
This scheduling interruption comes after last week's emotional episode, which saw Millie Radford and Harley Passmore racing to raise £2,000 to save their beloved puppy from being put down.
Channel 5 has confirmed that following the snooker coverage, the schedule will return to normal programming with Rich House Poor House. Meanwhile, previous episodes of 22 Kids and Counting remain available for streaming on the My5 platform.
