Uma Thurman Reunites With Quentin Tarantino For Fortnite's Kill Bill Chapter
Uma Thurman & Tarantino Reunite For Kill Bill Fortnite

In a highly anticipated reunion, actress Uma Thurman and acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino came together on Wednesday for the premiere of their new collaborative project, 'The Lost Chapter: Yuki's Revenge'.

A Nostalgic Premiere at the Vista Theater

The event, held at Los Angeles's Vista Theater, saw the 55-year-old actress make a sartorial nod to her most famous role. Thurman opted for a Kill Bill T-shirt, channelling her iconic alter-ego, The Bride. She completed the look with a black leather jacket and matching trousers as she discussed her involvement in the new venture.

Tarantino, meanwhile, was supported by his wife, Israeli singer Danielle Pick. Pick, who married the director in 2018, cut a glamorous figure in an elegant black gown featuring daring cut-outs.

From Pulp Fiction to a Rocky Professional Path

The duo's professional history is the stuff of Hollywood legend. They first joined forces on Tarantino's 1994 cult classic 'Pulp Fiction', a role that served as Thurman's major breakout. They later reunited for the two-part revenge epic, 'Kill Bill', released in 2003 and 2004.

However, their working relationship became famously strained following a dangerous car stunt on the set of the Kill Bill films. The incident left Thurman with significant injuries to her neck and knee. In a 2018 profile with The New York Times, Thurman revealed that Tarantino was 'furious' on set after she expressed fear about performing the stunt, which he had assured her was safe.

Tarantino has since expressed profound regret. He told Deadline, 'It was heartbreaking. Beyond one of the biggest regrets of my career, it is one of the biggest regrets of my life.' He acknowledged, 'She blamed me for the crash and she had a right to blame me for the crash.' Despite the past friction, Tarantino later assisted Thurman in obtaining footage of the accident as part of her efforts to hold Harvey Weinstein accountable.

Yuki's Revenge: An Unfilmed Script Comes to Life

Their latest project, 'The Lost Chapter: Yuki's Revenge', represents a mending of fences. The chapter is set to be the prime storyline for the upcoming seventh season of the global gaming phenomenon, Fortnite, tipped for release at the end of this month.

This new narrative is a treat for die-hard fans, as it brings to life a part of the Kill Bill story that was written into the original script but was never filmed. Now, players will get to experience this lost chapter firsthand within the Fortnite universe.

The premiere was also attended by executives from Epic Games, the developer behind Fortnite, including Vice President and Head of Global Partnerships Nate Nanzer and Vice President of Communications and Policy Tera Randall.

A Future for Kill Bill?

In related news, it was announced last week that 'Kill Bill' will be released as a single, combined theatrical film for the first time on December 5. This cinematic epic will run for a staggering four hours and 41 minutes, complete with a 15-minute intermission, and will feature a never-before-seen anime sequence.

Over the years, Tarantino has mused about the possibility of a 'Kill Bill: Volume Three'. In a 2021 appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he detailed a potential plot focusing on The Bride and her daughter, B.B. Kiddo, two decades later. He even expressed excitement at the idea of casting Thurman's real-life daughter, Maya Hawke, who recently made her Tarantino debut in 'Once Upon a Time In Hollywood'.

This family and professional connection, coupled with the new Fortnite chapter and the upcoming combined film release, suggests the saga of The Bride is far from over, and the creative partnership between Thurman and Tarantino continues to evolve.
