Samsung has confirmed that Apple TV's comedy series Stick is now available to watch for free on Samsung TV Plus, the subscription-free streaming service built into Samsung televisions. Season one of the show is airing from now until November 11, ahead of season two's launch on Wednesday, November 4.
What is Stick about?
Stick is a feel-good sports comedy centred on a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf. Owen Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After the collapse of his marriage while working at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce bets his future entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi, played by Peter Dager.
How to watch the new content
Samsung TV Plus is available on all Samsung Smart TVs from 2016 onwards as well as Samsung Galaxy mobile and tablet devices. Viewers with a compatible Samsung screen can find the content directly via the app on the home screen.
This collaboration with Apple adds to Samsung TV Plus's existing line-up, which already offers hundreds of live TV channels spanning news, sports, entertainment, movies, kids' shows, and music, alongside on-demand content.
More free channels coming to UK TVs
Separately, some UK homes are set to receive eight new UKTV services, with a range of popular content being made available at no cost. The extra FAST channels are advert-supported, will be broadcast on Freely and LG TVs, and will be completely free to view.
The update includes well-known titles such as Top Gear, EastEnders and Holby City, along with Antiques Roadshow, Bargain Hunt, DIY SOS, Gardeners' World and Holby City on U.
