A six-part limited series on Netflix is drawing praise for its gripping plot and strong performances. The show, titled The Survivors, is based on Jane Harper's 2020 novel of the same name.
The drama stars Charlie Vickers, known for playing Sauron in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and Yerin Ha, who recently appeared as Sophie Beak in the fourth series of Bridgerton.
Plot and Premise
The story follows Kieran Elliot, who returns to his hometown 15 years after a severe storm caused the death of his brother and his brother's best friend. Around the same time, a girl went missing. As he returns with his new family, the past comes back to haunt him when the death of a young girl begins to uncover buried secrets.
Critical Reception
The series premiered in June 2025 and currently holds a 100 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers have praised the plot and characters, with one saying it "scratches the right spot." Despite having only six episodes, reviewers note it manages to tell a complex story in a limited time.

TV reviewer Lamia shared her recommendation on social media, saying: "This show blew my mind. If you are looking for a TV show to binge, this is your sign." She added: "Let me tell you, this show had me like thinking what's gonna happen. It had me on the edge of my seat."
Other viewers also voiced their approval. One comment read: "Yes I loved it!" while another said: "Very good show!" However, not everyone was impressed. One critic wrote: "I'm going to be honest. I've tried multiple times and cannot get through episode 1. Maybe I'll try again..."
