Netflix viewers say they are staying up until 5am binge-watching the drama series Ozark, which has become a favourite recommendation for those seeking an addictive show. The suggestion emerged on Reddit after a user asked for a Netflix series that is "impossible to stop watching".
A Reddit Request Sparks Recommendations
The Reddit user wrote: "I need a Netflix series that's so addictive I end up saying, 'Just one more episode' until it's 3am. I just want something with a gripping story that hooks me from the first episode and keeps getting better."
Many responses pointed to Ozark as the next show to watch, with one person commenting: "It's the best binge show. Ozark was the last show I watched where I started episode 1 at 10pm and didn't stop watching til 5am. It's soooooo good."
What Is Ozark About?
Ozark stars Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, a high-powered Chicago financial advisor who secretly launders money for a Mexican drug cartel. The series ran for four seasons from 2017 to 2022.
The dark crime drama and thriller follows a multi-million dollar laundering scheme that goes wrong, and after Marty's business partner is killed, he must negotiate for his life. To pay off a massive debt, Marty moves his wife Wendy, played by Laura Linney, and their two teenage children to the rugged Lake of the Ozarks region in Missouri, US.
The family clashes with local criminals, Appalachian families like the Langmores, including Ruth Langmore played by Julia Garner, and the local Snell heroin-farming clan. Throughout the series, Marty and Wendy go deeper into the criminal underworld, transforming from panicked outsiders into ruthless power players while dodging a relentless FBI agent.

Ozark has received strong critical praise, high audience ratings and major industry awards during its four-season run on Netflix. The series has earned 25 wins and 176 nominations across key TV ceremonies, including four wins at the Primetime Emmy Awards. Julia Garner also secured one win at the Golden Globe Awards.
All four seasons of Ozark are available to stream on Netflix now.
