Netflix UK subscribers are being warned that a wave of popular films and TV series will be removed from the platform this week. The streaming service regularly updates its library, meaning some fan favourites are set to disappear by the end of January.
Among the most notable departures is the Oscar-winning epic 'Oppenheimer' (2023), starring Cillian Murphy, which will be taken down on Friday 31 January. Family favourite 'Paddington in Peru' (2024) is also scheduled for removal, along with the entire Star Trek franchise, including 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' and 'Star Trek: Voyager'.
Other films leaving this week include 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' (2019), 'Knight and Day' (2010), and 'Skyscraper' (2018) starring Dwayne Johnson. Animated titles such as 'Flushed Away' (2006) and 'Captain Underpants' series are also on the chopping block.
Classic comedies 'The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!' (1988) and its sequel 'The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear' (1991) will be removed, alongside 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' (2023) and 'Romeo Must Die' (2000).
Netflix has already removed several other high-profile titles earlier this month, including the Harry Potter films, 'Friends', and 'The Big Bang Theory'. Subscribers are advised to watch these shows before they vanish from the catalogue.
