Mindhunter, a psychological thriller based on a true crime book, aired for two seasons from 2017. Executive producer David Fincher confirmed in 2023 that the show was over, citing high costs and insufficient audience numbers. 'I'm very proud of the first two seasons. But it's a very expensive show and, in the eyes of Netflix, we didn't attract enough of an audience to justify such an investment,' Fincher told Forbes.
Kaos, a dark comedy based on Greek mythology starring Jeff Goldblum, was cancelled two months after its August 2024 release. Despite spending four weeks in Netflix's top 10, it failed to achieve high viewership. One Reddit user said: 'I loved how it ended, but they left it just open enough for so much more.
