Harlan Coben's I Will Find You on Netflix Divides Fans

Harlan Coben's latest Netflix thriller, 'I Will Find You,' has arrived with a polarized reception. While some viewers have devoured all eight episodes in a single sitting, others argue the show leans more toward science fiction than the gritty thriller they anticipated.

What Is 'I Will Find You' About?

The miniseries, based on Coben's 2023 novel of the same name, centers on David Burroughs, a father wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of his young son. Upon receiving a tip that his child might still be alive, Burroughs orchestrates a daring escape to uncover the truth. The eight-episode adaptation follows Coben's ongoing partnership with Netflix, which previously produced hits like 'Fool Me Once' starring Michelle Keegan.

Sam Worthington ('Avatar') stars as David Burroughs, alongside Britt Lower, Milo Ventimiglia, Logan Browning, and Madeline Stowe. Many viewers praised Worthington's performance, noting his previous roles drew them to the series.

Divided Fan Reactions

One enthusiastic viewer on IMDb said: 'This show completely took over my life from the moment I pressed play and ended up finishing the entire thing in a single sitting because I simply couldn't look away. This wasn't just a show I enjoyed – it was a show I experienced. The kind that reminds you why great television can be so powerful.'

Another added: 'Are there plot holes? Sure – it's a made for Netflix soap opera type of show. But the acting is solid, the story is solid, and the plot kept me interested to binge the whole season.'

However, not all feedback was glowing. A critic wrote: 'Unless you are prepared to COMPLETELY suspend belief of even the most normal, basic expectations of realism, give this a miss. I am a massive fan of Sam Worthington, and it's only the fact he's in it that I finished the first episode. The ridiculous scenarios you're expected to swallow had me turning it off 10 minutes into episode 2. They should market this as a sci-fi or fantasy or something instead of a thriller.'

No Second Season Planned

Fans hoping for more episodes will be disappointed, as 'I Will Find You' is a self-contained miniseries, consistent with most of Coben's Netflix adaptations. All eight episodes are available to stream now on Netflix.
