Misery Leaving BBC iPlayer Soon: Last Chance to Stream Stephen King Classic

The acclaimed horror film 'Misery', based on Stephen King's novel, is set to leave BBC iPlayer on March 31. The 1990 adaptation, directed by the late Rob Reiner, stars James Caan and Kathy Bates, who won an Oscar for her role as the obsessed fan Annie Wilkes.

The film follows author Paul Sheldon (Caan) who, after a car crash, is rescued by his 'number one fan' Annie Wilkes (Bates). When she discovers his plans to kill off her favourite character, she holds him captive and subjects him to brutal torture.

'Misery' holds an 86% critics' score and 90% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with fans calling it 'the best horror film of all time'. Viewers have praised its psychological tension, with one describing it as 'flat-out brilliant' and 'easily one of the best psychological horror flicks'.
