Eric Dane's Final Netflix Interview Leaves Fans Heartbroken

Netflix viewers have been left devastated after watching the posthumous interview of actor Eric Dane, who died from ALS at the age of 53. The Grey's Anatomy star, also known for roles in Charmed and Euphoria, revealed his diagnosis with the neurodegenerative condition in April 2025, just ten months before his death on 19th February.

Dane took part in Netflix's 'Famous Last Words' series, which gives audiences a chance to hear from a cultural icon after they have passed away. In the interview, he discussed his struggles with substance abuse and his relationship with former wife Rebecca Gayheart, with whom he shared two daughters, Billie and Georgia.

His closing words, delivered directly to camera for his children, have particularly moved viewers. Dane urged them to 'cherish every moment', 'fall in love', 'choose your friends wisely', and 'fight with every ounce of your being, and with dignity'. He added: 'When you face challenges, health or otherwise, fight. Never give up. Fight until your last breath. This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit.'

The interview follows the first instalment of 'Famous Last Words', released last October, featuring zoologist Jane Goodall, who died aged 91. Dane's episode is now available to stream on Netflix.
