Prince William and Princess Catherine sent a clear message to Prince Harry after he reunited with King Charles on Friday, according to a royal expert. At almost the same time that Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were being hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove, William and Catherine stepped out together in Windsor.
Royal Couple’s Public Appearance
The Prince and Princess of Wales, who are not on speaking terms with Harry and Meghan, were seen hand-in-hand at the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup held at Guards Polo Club in Windsor. William has competed in the event 15 times, raising money for charitable causes he and Catherine support.
While William and Catherine did not comment on Harry’s meeting with King Charles, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Daily Express that their happy appearance sent a strong message. “The King wanted to see his grandchildren and he did. No photograph was issued. The meeting of the King, Camilla, Harry and Meghan, Archie and Lili, was strictly private,” Fitzwilliams said.
Message of Togetherness
“Meanwhile William and Catherine sent a very different message at the polo, that of togetherness, but also publicly ignoring those who William feels betrayed him and the monarchy. They and their children are its future,” he added. Fitzwilliams noted that the Palace will be watching closely, especially given the Sussexes’ “fatefully symbiotic relationship with the media.”
King Charles has appeared keen to maintain cordial relations with Harry, but Prince William shows no signs of wanting to reconcile. The brothers have not spoken for some time, and William has not seen Harry during his UK visits. It remains unclear how William feels about his father meeting Harry at Highgrove on Friday.
